The story pitch from Kylie, Kassandra, Melissa and Ashley:
It is about 3 girls who are complete opposites, their opinions and personalities continuously clash. They each go through school as if they are strangers but beyond the discrimination of high school and passed all the drama, they are the best of friends. Our target audience would be teenage girls and adults that can relate to the hilarious stories, and the dramatic plot lines. Each episode will involve a sort of dramatic event, filled with laughter, tears and anger. It will start out that the three girls will eventually decide that it would be better if they put their differences behind them at school, and stop hiding their true selves. Dramatic events cause the girls to have the most dramatic year of their lives. They go on an emotional rollercoaster, and they each try to stay friends, and keep their lives under control.

TREATMENT – A detailed summary of your show idea. It should include character descriptions and examples of situations that they find themselves in. A description of a typical episode would unfold.
An episode would begin with the three girls at school; Brooke Murphy would be leaving her locker after getting her books ready, while Lindsay Summers would be coming out of the bathroom from fixing her hair and make-up, then Alexa Barrie would be coming in late. They all accidentally run into each other, and Brooke exchanges dirty looks with the “superficial whores”, Alexa just got up and walked away, and Lindsay says something mean and storms off back into the bathroom. These girls absolutely hate each other, at school, when Lindsay is waiting for her drive outside, Brooke looks out her window and sees her. She goes outside and yells out her name. We soon find out that they have been friends since they were children, they have the most different personalities, but they all have lived by each other and been through so much drama in the past that they have an unforgettable friendship.

Some examples of the drama that it can include are, the aftermath of Brooke’s overdose, and her attempting to find her real parents. Lindsay tries to get her parents attention, in an attempt she rebels and loses complete control over herself. Alexa brings a dramatic twist after she finds out that the night at the club the guy drugged her drink, and she is now pregnant, she deals with going to school, and the return of her father from prison.
Brooke Murphy is a 17 year old girl who’s the average good girl type. Her dark brown hair is always neatly in place; she dresses casual and always looks to perfection. Her grades are top in each of her classes, and after school she tutors. One encounter I’ve had with her was at the tutoring center, the first time I went to get help we got into a huge debate on almost everything. She has the most interesting opinions on every subject imaginable, when she gets into arguments she gets such an angry look on her face, and every time she fights with such a passion that you rarely see in such a young inexperienced person. It’s hard to comprehend why she’s so angry all the time. It seems she’s hides her true feeling behind a fake good girl personality. People have said that she has recently found out she’s adopted, and a week after this discovery she was admitted into the hospital for an overdose on painkillers. She seems so put together that it’s unnatural to see her or think of her in distress.
Late Saturday night, the police got an emergency call from our small town uneventful town. When the paramedics wheeled in the 17 year old girl passed out on the stretcher, we were shocked to find out what had happened. Brooke Murphy in a state of depression and anger, popped open a bottle of Tylenol extra strengths, and downed at least more than half of the bottle, and washed it down with a couple shots of tequila. The doctors eventually pumped out her stomach and saved her from accomplishing her goal, the question on my mind standing watching the entire process and quickly handing the doctor his tools, why would such a young beautiful girl want to end everything this way.
The next day, I was going to check on Brooke and make sure she was comfortable. She looked angry and disgruntled; I looked at her, and asked her my question. “Why?”
She looked up at me, with dark circles around her eyes, and said nothing. When I turned to leave the room she calmly stated “they lied to me, do you have any idea what that feels like? 17 years of being lied to, by the only people I’ve ever trusted.”
“What did they lie about?”
“I’m adopted, they’re like strangers. How am I going to go back to that house?” She looked the other way and stopped talking. She quickly wiped the tears out of her eyes, and put on a fake smile and asked “Can I get dinner?”
Lindsay Summers is your typical prep looking girl. She has brown hair, hazel eyes and the perfect fair skin. She lives in a small rural town in Canada. Growing up for Lindsay was very difficult her parents were never home to talk to, although she was rich money couldn’t buy happiness. After years and years of her parents burying themselves in their work affairs it wore off on her particularly in her attitude. She became the most selfish cold hearted unreasonable teen, only talking to people of her own kind, caring more about appearance than personality. She always dressed to impress, wearing the perfect fitted jeans, Abercrombie polo’s, colored crisp white shirts, and perfectly buffed chunky black heels and the hottest accessories.
One weekend her very busy parents were each gone on a business trip. She decided to rebel and have a house party. “I’ll invite some of my best girlfriends and the hottest boys; it’s going to be fun”
It was the night of the party and everyone was there. The party was increasingly growing, and more and more people were showing up. She later found out that her friend had invited a few extra people, who also invited more people. Lindsay thought that she could handle it at first, but realized the party was a total disaster. Finally after a few hours of kicking people out, and cleaning up the mess, she cracked. Her friend and she got in to the largest catfight I have ever seen. Her parent’s business trip had gotten cancelled, and decided to come home early. Her parents came home absolutely furious. Lindsay and her parents in a state of rage finally got everyone out of the house, she confronted her parents. “I’m going to bed this place better be clean in the morning” her father yelled.
“Why would you care, what are you going to do, you’re never home enough to ground me, maybe you need to take the time to get to know your own daughter!” Lindsay stormed out of her house and sped of in her car.
Everyone outside finally got the inside look at the perfect princess for themselves. It was the talk to the school the next day, every corner she turned the girls would stare her down with dirty looks and look the other way. “Now look what I’ve done, I’ve made a fool of myself, my reputation is ruined.”
Alexa Barrie is a 17 year old girl who lives in a small town in Canada. She has long brown hair with blue eyes and is very thin and looks as if she hasn’t gotten any sleep in days. Alexa likes to have a good time; she drinks a lot and attends parties all the time. She grew up with an alcoholic father and rumor has it, one drunken night he accidentally killed her mother, she now lives with her grandparents. Alexa has a new guy each week, her self control is lacking, out all hours partying and coming home completely intoxicated. She dresses as if she doesn’t care about her appearance, at all times she hides her baggy dark eyes under a pair of huge sunglasses, and big black boots are her favorite choice, ripped fishnets, short tops, and lots of make-up.
Wednesday night, Alexa and I decided to attend the new club in the town over. The place was filled with people, people paired off on the dance floor, drug addicts were in the VIP, and the main crowd were sitting at tables and waiting at the bar. We decided to each get a drink and sit down at a table near the back, a few shooters and a couple of rounds around the table, Alexa was definitely feeling good. About a half hour later she was dancing on the tables and grabbing on to every guy that walked passed her. There was guy that she was dancing with, he kept buying her drinks and by the end of the night he was putting himself and her into a taxi on the way to his apartment. I searched the entire club, I couldn’t find her anywhere, after about 20 minutes of looking, I decided to leave and wait for her to return to my house.
Alexa didn’t get home until early the next morning; I looked at her and said “What happened to you last night?”
She walked by and started looking for something to wear to school. “I was with a friend.” I didn’t think anything of it, until she got into the shower and I heard the mirror break. She was getting ready and noticed the bruises on her sides, she began to cry, but she wasn’t upset as much as she was angry, she was angry at herself for being so stupid and trusting the stranger to take her home. She got so angry she put all her frustration into the mirror in front of her. It smashed and cracked the entire mirror and sat down on the bathroom floor and cried.
WOW! Those are great background stories! Good job.
I think there should be one more character. An older person such as a teacher or older cousin/brother/sister…. This person is a character who the girls can relate to on every level. Someone who is so cool that can make perfect simple sense of the most mind blowing confusing drama which plagues their lives. But this person still has to know the line between friend and authorities figure. This person has to seem that they are always one step ahead of the girls, probably because she has gone through the EXACT same things as what the girls are going through when he/she was younger.
Just a thought. You don’t have to go with it if you don’t want. But the more character dynamics you can come up with, the more drama you can conjure.
At the hospital friends and family anxiously wait for word on Brooke Murphy. After finding out that her parents had lied to her for 17 years, she was adopted. The next day at school people are whispering and talking about her, and her two best friends. Alexa Barrie and Lindsay Summers have been friends with Brooke since they were kids, time went by and they each connected to different clicks. Flash back to the hospital where someone has seen Alexa and Lindsay in the waiting room, waiting for news on Brooke. The scandal of the forbidden friendship has begun.
Three girls, who try and keep control of their dramatic lives, try to remain friends and graduate high school.
