FOCUS – A vague description of what the show will be about and who the target audience is.
The target audience for our show is older teenagers, and young adults. The show is not suitable for children. It is an animated series that follows four teenagers and their quest to start a peaceful revolution.
TREATMENT – A detailed summary of your show idea. It should include character descriptions and examples of situations that they find themselves in. A description of a typical episode would unfold.
The idea for our show is that it follows four main characters, Jude, Brody, Julia, and Lucy, while they try to start a peaceful revolution. The characters will do everything peacefully, such as protesting etc. All four characters also have hobbies which include, stealing, and causing mischief. He is the main character he lives in an abandoned building, because he was kicked out of his parent’s house. He enjoys frozen pizza pockets, and Donkey Kong. Jude’s best friend is Brody. Brody still lives with his parents, and is in school on a special education program, although he is a smart character, he often gets kicked out for being bad. Brody is always eating pears and he comes through the window instead of the door. There are also two girls, Julia and Lucy. They are friends with the boys, and all four friends have relationships with each other. Julia has short blond hair, a tattoo, and is often seen wearing a vest. Lucy loves body paint, has long black hair that is always in braids, and frequently wears hats.
JUDE-
Jude is an 18 year old boy who was kicked out of his house by his parents. He does not work, because he hates society. He has black hair, he is tall, and he is skinny. HE lives by himself in an abandoned building; his friends often come in and out through the window.
Jude loves food and donkey Kong. His favorite thing to eat is pizza pockets and pop tarts. He likes to make his own clothes and frequently makes obscene t-shirts. He hates authority figures, and parents.
Jude’s best friend is Brody. Brody lives at home with his parents, so Jude only travels over to his house on his beat up moped late at night or when they are away. Jude never pays for fuel because of the war and unfair price. It is a tradition for Jude to come through the window and play donkey Kong. Jude and Brody have a great amount of pass times which include protesting in front of the white house, throwing rocks at seagulls, and abstract art. Jude and Brody’s main goal is to start a peaceful revolution or find some purpose for being alive.
Jude’s other friends are Julia and Lucy. They are considered to be part of the peaceful revolution. If they get annoyed with each other they just ignore one another, they never argue. All four characters get along with each other, and all have relationships together.
Jude often does not feel regret or remorse for anything that he does. He wants to start a revolution because he sees war a lot, and is scared a single argument could start one in his very own country. He wants to save the world more than the other three of his friends and sometimes gets discouraged when his friends loose interest.
Jude is a devoted Beatle’s fan, his real name is Evan (Jude of course comes from the song “Hey Jude”), but that is something that his peers do not know, and will never be revealed. Since Jude is an atheist, Lennon is a kind of god to him and the Beatles are a soundtrack to his life.
BRODY-
Brody is a 17 year old boy, who lives with his parent. He is the only of his friends that still attends school, although he is in a special education program. He is actually a very smart kid, but he is lazy, and often gets kicked out of school for being bad.
Body’s favorite thing to do is eat; whenever he goes to visit Jude he eats all of the pears off of his pear tree, at the back of the abandoned building. He loves all food except for pizza pockets; Jude often eats pizza pockets because Brody will not take them on him. Brody is slightly overweight, has red hair, and he wears clothes that his parents buy him. He has a variety of past times which include, jigging school to hang out with Jude, and of course throwing rocks at pigeons. Brody like Jude also has relationships with Julia, and Lucy.
Brody is a spoiled child, and his parents always give him money, which he usually spends on his friends. Brody always comes in and out through the window, because he wants to avoid his parents in all possible ways. He is always tired, lazy, and he doesn’t talk much. He is a religious Donkey Kong fan.
JULIA-
Julia has short blonde hair. You can find a tattoo of Casper the ghost on her left shoulder. Julia’s best friend is Lucy. Julia wants to be a tattoo artist. No one knows if Julia went to school or if she ever lived with her parents. She does not want to talk about her past. Everyone just assumes she always lived at the Motel or that Julia just doesn’t want to admit that the Motel Owner is really her father.
Julia and Lucy are also involved with the peace revolution and you will get to know Julia more as the episodes are created.
LUCY-
Lucy is skinny and has long dark brown hair that is most often done up in braids. Her real name is Leslie but since she graduated from school and moved out of her parent’s house she changed her name to Lucy. Lucy gets her name from the song “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”. Although the four friends have relationships with each other she believes one day her and Jude will have a family. Julia is her best friend; she and Julia live in a Motel. They pay for their room by making clothing and jewelry for the Motel owner.
Lucy is also involved in the peace revolution.
SPRING BOARDS
First episode – introduce characters
Jude and Body enter donkey Kong donkey Kong contest and win money.
Flashes back to the girls and back to boys when four friends aren’t together so you can see what they are all up to.
Brody comes to visit Jude at the abandoned building and eats all the pears off Jude’s pear tree. Jude has no money so he gets hungry and has to steal pizza pockets. He is safe to steal them because Brody doesn’t like them.
Julia gives Brody a tattoo of a goldfish on his knee.
Julia and Lucy live next door to a man named Waldo. He is tall with blue jeans and always wears a red and white striped shirt. Brown hair & brown shoes. And a white hat with a red pom-pom. Whenever the four friends want drugs they say “wheres waldo” in this episode they introduce the character.
Jude and Brody go out for a walk, while high, when they encounter a rainbow. They follow the rainbow and, after meeting many mystical creature like Henry the Hippo, and Fred the fairy, they find Waldo at the end of the rainbow.
They plan a big protest and free tattoo’s and make signs. They sleep outside the white house and some people join them. Once they are discovered they are worried they will get busted for having drugs but then they check their pockets and realize the president has taken the drugs and smoked them. They think the president is their friend and had a party together; they tell the police they plan on visiting Mr. President again soon.
All four friends get together and sell goods they made, necklaces, shirts and caramel pears and drugs to raise money. They need this money for the Phish concert they want to attend.
Hi guys!
I have a few questions about conflicting character traits.
If these kids want to start a Peaceful Revolution, shouldn’t they have a cause? It seams that they don’t care about anything, and are embarrassed about who they are and where they come from (like Julia). People who start revolutions (and in particular, Peaceful Revolutions) have been very strong, very smart, and very charismatic. Gandhi, John Lennon, Malcom X. These are people who others look up to and will follow to the end of the world.
The way its sounding here are these guys are more down the lines of Anarchists, in which case, their revolution would be without rules or boarders and not so much of a cause.
What kind of revolution do they want? World Peace, End World Hunger, ….. do these kids, who seem to not be such happy people, find happiness and a real cause? Do we see them go on a journey from being miserable people to icons of a radical movement?
I think you guys are onto something cool here.
They enjoy their lives. They are not unhappy people at all, and they are rebellious against authority figures, because that's just what they like to do.

Well they don't really have very strong, leaderish characteristics, because the characters are always treated bitterly. They don't like the way that society works, like for example Jude doesn't want to pay for his food, because he's homeless and doesn't have money. He therefore finds it wrong that he should have to, and steals it. They are really not like Ganhdi, or Malcome X at all, because both Ganhdi and Malcome X had more oppertunities, and political infulence than these four characters. The show takes place in an uncertain time period so it is hard to really link them to any particular event, the presidents name is just "mr.president". Although their main purpose is to start a peaceful revolution ex. they don't want police officers to beat protesters for their beliefs, they still have to get by. It hasn't been decided yet if they will succeed with what they are doing, maybe they will not make any significant change at all.
Actually, both Malcolm X and especially Gandi were pretty much stripped of all their rights. The thing that made them powerful were the people who followed them. In fact, Gandi was physically kicked off a train in South Africa because he had no lawful right to be sitting in it, even though he was a successful lawyer. These are people who had NO opportunity to do anything. Every door was always shut to them, but in the end found a way to change the world. They did this by fighting FOR the people. Its rare, but it happens from time to time, but the government should fear the people. Throughout history, and especially now, the people fear the government. But with those two people, they had such a following with millions of people that the governments actually did fear them.
I like the idea that they don’t like paying for food. I think it’s ridiculous that our governments will spend $110 000 on one anti air craft missile, while we have children starving on our streets. This could be an example of one of the things they fight for. There is an organization you might have heard of before called, “Food Not Bombs”. If they were to somehow convince millions of people that people are starving while we spend useless money on a cause that we are GOING to loose (the war), the people will rise up.
Look at the French in France. This is a country where the government fears its people. This is how it Should be. If the people are not happy with a decision the government has made, the entire country will not go to work, therefore shutting down the country. Could you imagine how the USA and Canada would be different if this was the case here? Maybe these characters find a way to unite nations to change the way our governments make choices?
